Did you know – the egg cases of sharks and rays are often referred to as a “mermaid’s purse”? Sailors would find these egg cases washed up on the shore and believe them to have belonged to the mermaids who swam in the ocean!
Spring is here and, as the flowers bloom and the sun peaks through the clouds, we are learning about all the amazing ways in which animals in the aquatic world lay their eggs, protect their babies, and raise them to adulthood.
