The young turtle found stranded at Gwithian Bay last week, continues to survive and is slowly responding to treatment at the Blue Reef Aquarium, Newquay. Staff are still working around the clock to provide care for it and have managed to get the turtle’s temperature up as planned, which is limited to being raised by 1C degree daily. It still has another 5C degrees to go before its condition stabilises. The turtle has responded well to re-hydration treatment, but with another week to go before feeding attempts can be made Blue Reef staff remain cautiously optimistic about the Turtles recovery as it is still within the critical stages.
