Blue Reef's dedicated team of aquarists are actively involved in pioneering captive breeding programmes for a wide range of both native and tropical species.

Our nursery displays provide the perfect environment for many species including captive-bred baby clownfish and seahorses.  Other breeding successes include sharks, rays, pipefish, Bangaii cardinal fish, cuttlefish and many more.

The aquarium is even planing to grow and propagate its own hard corals in an innovative display which highlights the threats faced by the world's coral reefs. 

The new Blue Reef Nursery provides a fascinating insight into the life cycles of marine creatures from around the world - so why not bring your toddlers to meet our tiddlers!
